Keypad install in a rainstorm on Tuesday, and the homeowner wanted to argue about wire nuts
Set a keypad by a back door in Aurora last Tuesday when the sky opened up and water started running down the wall right where I was drilling. I threw a trash bag over the panel, killed the breaker, and finished the terminations, but the block got damp and I had to swap it for a dry one I keep in the van. Homeowner came out and wanted me to use wire nuts instead of my lever connectors because that is what his dad did, and we went back and forth in the rain for 10 minutes. I get the old school argument, but I also get that a wet block and a loose nut is how you get a call back in a month. Where do you all land on this, do you humor the homeowner or stick to your method?
