I finally snapped at a helper for not using the right drill bit on a brick facade

He kept burning through masonry bits on a concrete block job because he thought they were the same. That mistake cost us an extra $50 in bits and an hour of my time yesterday. How do you guys get new guys to actually listen about the small stuff?

Honestly, that seems a bit harsh. A fifty dollar lesson is pretty cheap training in this trade. We all burned up the wrong bit when we were new. The real problem is if he makes the same mistake again next week.

Masonry bits are for brick, concrete needs a carbide tip.
