Am I the only one who ran cat5 on the outside of walls 10 years ago?
I used to just staple cat5 cable along baseboards for every install because it was fast and cheap. Now I fish everything through walls and use conduit in garages after a customer in Phoenix complained their line got chewed by a packrat last summer. Anyone else change how they run cable after one bad job?

Ha, yeah packrats are no joke. I once had a mouse chew through a cable I'd stapled along a baseboard in a woman's basement, and she sent me a picture of the dead rodent holding the broken wire like it had a grudge. That's the day I started buying conduit too.
