A homeowner's comment made me rethink my sensor placement
I used to put door contacts high up, thinking it was cleaner. A client in Tampa said his kid kept setting it off by jumping and grabbing the top of the frame. I moved the next install to the middle hinge area and haven't had a single false alarm since. Where's the weirdest spot you've had to put a sensor to avoid trouble?

Seriously? Middle of the door is a pain for furniture and looks messy. High up is still the right call, just tell people to control their kids.

My old apartment had a high peephole and I still had to lift my dog up to see out. It's not just kids, it's anyone shorter than average.
