3 hours on a fake glass break sensor

Customer said the sensor kept tripping at 2 AM. I swapped panels, tested zones, the whole thing. Turns out the sensor was mounted over a vent that whistled just right in the cold, took me 3 hours to even look at the wall. Anyone else had a false trigger that had nothing to do with the wiring?

Shake my head, a whistle from a vent setting off a glass break sensor is one of the wildest false alarms I've heard in years. That sound frequency must have matched the sensor's trigger pattern almost perfectly, which explains why every other part of the system checked out fine. Three hours is rough, but at least you can say you found the real culprit, even if it was hiding in the wall the whole time.
