Update: I almost signed off a fuel pump job on a 737 in Spokane because the torque wrench clicked early
Was doing a fuel pump swap on a 737 in Spokane two weeks ago and the wrench clicked way before it should have. I grabbed a second wrench and it read 40 inch pounds off from the first one, so I pulled both and sent them to the cal lab. Turns out the first one had been riding around loose in a toolbox for who knows how long. Cost the airline a two hour delay but that is way better than a fuel leak at altitude. Anybody else here check their torque wrenches against a buddy's before a critical job, or am I the only paranoid one?
