That 2am brake job in Phoenix flipped my opinion on pre-printed clips

That 2am brake job in Phoenix flipped my opinion on pre-printed clips. I always set hardware by feel, but a bent retainer on a CRJ caused a caliper hang and cost me 3 hours of rework. Swapped to a labeled clip kit, and it fit first try. Now I use those for anything with tight tolerances and keep hand-fitting for old stuff. Has anyone else found a certain part they avoided until a late night job proved them wrong?

One blown job and suddenly the clips are the problem? Sounds like the real issue was the bent retainer you missed the first time. The labeled kit didn't magically fix anything, it just made you slow down and read the box. And yeah, that's actually a solid point in their favor, but let's not act like a 2am mistake rewires your whole brain. Been doing this long enough to know one bad night makes everyone swear off whatever part was in their hand at the time. Next week someone will blame the caliper grease.
