Spent $350 on a digital borescope for turbine inspections and it's already paid for itself

Found a tiny crack in a first-stage compressor blade on a PT6 that visual checks missed, saving a much bigger repair bill down the line. Anyone have a favorite brand for these or tips on getting the clearest images?

Totally agree about the side-view mirror, that thing is a game changer for seeing behind vanes. I ended up getting a cheap USB LED light ring that clips onto the scope cable for extra brightness in dark cavities. The trick is to move the light source away from the lens a bit to cut down on glare. A little dab of dielectric grease on the camera head keeps crud from sticking as bad too.

Good call on that find. The Teslong ones with the side-view mirror tip are solid for getting around corners. Keep the lens clean and use plenty of light.
