Remember when we had to use the paper manuals for everything?

We had a 737 with a flap issue and I spent an hour flipping through the big binder while the new guy pulled up the same info on his tablet in about two minutes. The search function alone made the difference. Anyone still keep the old books around just in case?

Man, you ever hear about the guy who dropped his tablet on the tarmac? My buddy watched his whole digital manual just shatter before a big check. He had to run back to the hangar and dig out the old paper binder from a storage locker, dust flying everywhere. He said it felt like stepping back in time, but it saved his butt that day. Makes you wonder if keeping those old books is just nostalgia or a real backup plan.

Honestly I used to think that was just dead weight taking up space. After my own phone died mid-job with all my notes on it, I get it now. That paper backup is cheap insurance when tech fails.
