Rant: The barbecue where I had to detail a fuel system check
I've seen a pattern where people not in the trade think our job is simple. Last weekend, a guy at a cookout asked if we just 'change oil and filters' on planes. I mentioned a recent fuel line inspection where we found a tiny crack. Explained how that could lead to a leak and a real bad day. He just smiled and passed me a plate of ribs. It's kind of funny how critical stuff sounds like boring details to them. Makes me glad to have you all to talk shop with.

How often do those small cracks turn into bigger issues?

Wait, did someone really just let it go after seeing that first crack? That's like the bright red flag everyone ignores.
