Kid fresh out of A&P school made me rethink my inspection routine

Had a 22-year-old new hire at the Delta base in Atlanta point out a hairline crack on a 737 engine mount I'd signed off on. He said "the light hits it different at this angle" and sure enough, I'd missed it. Made me realize I've been rushing the same checks for 12 years. Any of you old-timers changed up your methods after getting called out by someone greener?

Well, guess I should start checking things by the light of my phone flashlight now.

Respectfully disagree here @the_abby... sometimes you gotta trust your gut first and let the flashlight confirm it later.
