Hot take: the torque stripe habit I picked up from a UPS guy at Boeing Field
Was grabbing lunch near Boeing Field last Tuesday and got talking to a UPS mechanic who said he paints a thin torque stripe on every bolt he touches during an inspection. He said it saved his shop three engine removals in two years because anyone can see at a glance what's been checked and what hasn't. I tried it on a 737 flap track job and found two bolts I'd missed. Anyone else running torque stripes, or is that overkill on smaller GA stuff?
