Finally got the hang of chasing threads on a 737 bleed air duct without cross-threading

I kept fighting with those bleed air duct bolts on the 737. Cross-threaded one last Tuesday and had to helicoil it, took me an extra 3 hours. Tried using a tap and die set with some cutting oil and running it by hand slowly. That did the trick on the next one, went in smooth with zero issues. Anyone else have a go-to method for these specific threads?

Man you actually run a tap through those things or just let the bolt do all the work by itself?

Oh man, @oscarmurray, I'd say always run a tap through em first. Learned that the hard way stripping out a bolt on a lawnmower deck years ago. Just a quick pass saves you a headache later, your mileage may vary though.
