Finally got my torque game right after 6 years
Used to snap bolts on the regular cause i was always rushing. Started taking my time with a beam wrench instead of the click type and haven't stripped a single fastener in 3 months now. Anyone else switch tools and see a big difference?

Man, it took me snapping a critical bolt on my project car to realize I was the problem, not the tool. I used to swear by my click type torque wrench, thought beam wrenches were outdated junk. But after that mess, I grabbed a cheap beam wrench just to finish the job and holy cow, the difference was night and day. You can actually see the deflection and feel exactly when you're close to the limit instead of guessing with that click. I feel dumb for ignoring them for so long, but better late than never. What kind of stuff are you wrenching on that made you finally switch?

Jenny, I get you're fired up about this but honestly, snapping one bolt doesn't mean click wrenches are junk. I've used both for years moving heavy stuff and there's a lot of user error that can happen with any tool. Maybe your click wrench just needs calibration, or you were rushing. Beam wrenches have their own issues too, like parallax error if you're not looking dead straight at the scale.
