Bought a $200 borescope for a quick check and it found a crack in a cylinder head

Was doing a routine inspection on a Cessna 172 last month and decided to finally use the cheap borescope I got online. I slid it into the number three cylinder and saw a hairline crack near the exhaust valve seat I would have totally missed. That $200 tool saved me from a much bigger repair bill and a potential engine failure. Anyone else have a go-to tool that's caught something major for them?

That "quick check" thing is so true. I mean, it's wild how often the small, cheap move ends up saving you from the huge, expensive problem.

My old car had a weird noise for months. A $20 sensor fix last year stopped it from overheating and needing a whole new engine.
