A lead told me my rivet gun grip was trash, fixed my bucking bar game

Been doing sheet metal for 6 years and always had decent results. Last month a lead walked by while I was doing a lap joint on a flap and said 'you hold that gun like a hammer, that's why you're chasing the bucking bar.' He showed me to grip it low and let the weight do the work, not my arm. Took me about a week to break the habit but my rivet set time dropped by like 30% and I barely get driven bucking bars now. Anyone else get a basic grip fix that changed their whole technique?
