Tried making frozen chicken wings in the air fryer at a friend's Super Bowl party

I went to a Super Bowl party at my buddy's place in Chicago last weekend and he threw frozen wings straight into his air fryer with no thawing. I always defrost mine for hours before cooking, but his came out crispy in 25 minutes with no prep work. He used a simple dry rub and shook the basket halfway through. Has anyone else tried cooking frozen meat directly without defrosting first?

Frozen works WAY better than thawed for wings I swear.

Hold on @morgan.nancy, you're telling me throwing frozen wings straight into the fryer is actually better than thawing them out first? That goes against everything I thought I knew about cooking, honestly (not that I'm any kind of chef, mind you). I guess the science kinda makes sense if you're after that extra crunch, but it feels like a lot of risk for minor gains.
