Rant: My air fryer caught fire because I didn't preheat it right
I was making frozen chicken wings last Saturday night in my apartment kitchen. Recipe said 400 degrees for 20 minutes. I tossed them in cold and walked away. About 12 minutes in I smelled something bad. Opened it up and there was a small flame in the bottom from grease drippings hitting the heating coil. I unplugged it quick and used a damp towel to smother it. Now I always preheat for 3 minutes first and check the drip tray halfway through. Has anyone else had a close call like this?

Preheat for 5 and pat wings dry first, grease fires are no joke.
