PSA: My air fryer basket coating started peeling after 4 months

I got a GoWISE USA air fryer last October and loved it until the nonstick coating started flaking off into my food last week. I tried using parchment paper liners but they kept flying up and burning on the heating element. Has anyone else dealt with the coating failing on a budget air fryer model and found a way to fix it?

For what it's worth I've heard the coating on those budget models just isn't made to last. Maybe try lining the basket with foil instead of parchment, just poke a bunch of holes in it so the air still circulates.

Honestly are we really gonna act like a little bit of coating flaking is gonna kill you? I've been using a cheap air fryer for like 2 years and the basket looks terrible but I'm still alive. You probably ate way worse stuff before you even noticed the flakes anyway. Just rinse the basket real good before each use and shake off any loose bits. Or get a silicone liner if you're that worried about it but honestly it's probably fine.
