Just nailed crispy tofu for the first time after 6 tries
I've been trying to get air fryer tofu to actually be crunchy on the outside, not just warm and sad. Finally figured out that pressing it for 20 minutes (not 10) and tossing it in a tablespoon of cornstarch before cooking at 375 made all the difference. Used a block from H Mart near my place in Chicago. Has anyone else had trouble with tofu sticking to the basket, or is it just my cheap nonstick coating?

Does anyone's first 5 tries always end up as sad kitchen science experiments like mine?

jason250, I wouldn't call 5 tries a "sad science experiment" more like a learning curve. I got mine on try 4, but only after I started patting the tofu dry with paper towels before pressing. The cornstarch trick works way better if the outside is really dry first, otherwise it just gets gummy. How long did you press yours for?
