Finally using a thermometer in my air fryer after 3 years of guessing
Been cooking chicken thighs in my air fryer for like 3 years just winging it on time and temp. Last week I picked up a cheap instant read thermometer for like 12 bucks at the grocery store. Turns out I was undercooking my chicken by a solid 10 degrees almost every time. Now I feel dumb but also relieved I finally checked. Has anyone else had that moment where a simple tool changed how they cook?

You mentioned being off by 10 degrees almost every time - what kind of temp were you pulling them at before? I'm curious if you were just barely under or way off.

lol @grant901 I was pulling them at like 150-155 which I thought was close enough but nope, that extra 10 degrees makes a huge difference in texture. Honestly I was just proud they weren't still pink in the middle, but clearly my standards were way too low. Now I'm checking everything like a mad scientist, even toast. Pretty sure my air fryer is gonna start filing a restraining order against my thermometer.
